To whom it may concern:
I wish to remain in the accounting field, intend to continue working for at least 10 years, and I therefore am seeking employment performing duties of a full charge bookkeeper, payroll, franchise, and/or income tax work. I will consider any work in related accounting type fields.
Since 1988, I have been self-employed as a bookkeeper performing the same work as for my first employer, a CPA, except no audit work as I am not a CPA. For my largest client, I suggested an account receivable program when their account receivables and statements were computerized and out sourced to me. I later installed and maintained a computer network when they took and computerized their order entry, inventory, and account receivables in house using a different software package.
I have, also, bought, tested, sold, installed, maintained, and repaired computers and computer parts, both used and new, since 1988.
After graduating from North Texas State University (now University of North Texas) with a BBA-Accounting major in 1977, I was employed by a local CPA as a staff accountant. My duties included write-up work from setup of general ledgers through Financial Statements, state and federal payroll reports, federal income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, Sub Chapter S, and regular corporations in both manual (paper) and computerized format.
When the IBM PC came out in 1985, I located a client write-up package designed for CPA's suggested the package to my employer, which he purchased. I have, also, used Lotus 1-2-3 to prepare spreadsheets to enter data into different tax returns and reports. The CPA sold his practice shortly before his death to another CPA in 1988.
I served 4 years in the U. S. Navy as a payclerk, promoted twice, within two years, from seaman (E-3) to Petty Officer 2nd Class (E-5) by passing Navy wide exams to fill a set number of positions. My last three duty stations were independent or in charge of the Disbursing Office under the Disbursing Officer.

Promoted twice within two years by passing Navy wide exams with waivers for time in pay grade.
