The Commission Accountant is responsible for profit and loss analysis, verification of direct overhead expenses, commission compensation calculations and posting and reviewing general ledger journal entries for profit center accounting. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - including, but not limited to, the following: Analyze and reconcile client commission related activity on a monthly basis. Prepare and verify monthly direct overhead charges for third party brokers and internal salesmen. Prepare commission payout compensation calculations for third party brokers and internal salesmen. Prepare general ledger journal entries to record payout calculations and review corresponding profit center income statements to validate the calculation. Prepare other analysis and reports as deemed necessary. Assist in general ledger account reconciliations. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, have good interpersonal and communication skills and excellent computer skills. Minimum 4-year college degree in Accountancy/Finance preferred. Excellent analytical and business skills are required. Three years experience in a similar position and Futures Industry knowledge preferred. Computer skills required include experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel
