Financial Analyst – IT Systems

Experienced financial analyst needed to act as liaison between Accounting, Finance and Information Technology teams within global financial services and consulting firm. In this role you will train new hires and oversees the functions of subordinates; analyze the impact of the firm's Chart of Accounts changes and business rules; serve as a financial system liaison between the Accounting, Finance and Information Technology team members; be responsible for financial system configuration, data flow, data retrieval, reporting, communicating and troubleshooting (identifying, analyzing, and resolving) financial accounting systems issues while maintaining financial accounting system integrity. The function of this role will cross over between accounting and systems. This professional also assists the firm's financial community in the month-end and year-end closing process; provides guidance and assistance to internal clients in analysis, reconciliation, data retrieval, system flow and reporting requirements; identifies areas where efficiencies can be achieved through automation; creates applications to automate manual processes; and represents the interest of the department in meetings.
Qualifications:
Ø a bachelor's degree (Accounting Degree preferred) in a related discipline; or equivalent work experience
Ø approximately 2-4 years of related work experience
Ø excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ø strong supervisory and teamwork skills
Ø proficiency in various computer applications pertaining to financial and accounting systems
Responsibilities:
Ø Under limited supervision, train and oversee the functions of subordinates.
Ø Represent the interest of department in meetings.
Ø Verify the integrity of the financial system, identify any discrepancies and communicate them to module owners.
Ø Provide specifications for system enhancements and defect resolutions.
Ø Participate actively in testing the results of program enhancements, customizations, and defect resolutions.
Ø Analyze the impact of changes in Chart of Accounts values and business rules within the financial systems.
Ø Maintain Business Rules and Chart of Accounts’ values in General Ledger system.
Ø Verify the accuracy of configuration migrations and identify problems with validation tables.
Ø Review journal entries for completeness; process adjustments to system-generated entries.
Ø Assist the firm's financial community during month-end and year-end closes.
Ø Provide guidance and assistance to internal clients in analysis, reconciliation, data retrieval, system flow and reporting requirements.
Ø Use various reporting and analytical tools for data mining and ad-hoc reporting.
Ø Identify areas where efficiencies can be achieved through automation, and create supporting applications.
Ø Provide input into subordinates' performance reviews.
