BMO Capital Markets is looking for Analysts to work within the Commercial & Industrial sector of the Investment and Corporate Banking group. Analysts will gain exposure to a number of industries, as well as a variety of financial products, such as public and private debt and equity financings, mergers and acquisitions and financial advisory. Analysts play a critical role in the transaction team, with such responsibilities as: running valuation analyses; performing complex financial modeling; conducting industry and company research and analysis; developing client presentations; developing writing internal and external marketing memoranda; and performing other tasks supporting client relationships and relationship development.
Specific Responsibilities
• Support Managing Directors, Directors and Vice Presidents in developing financial solutions for clients and prospects.
• Generate new acquisition ideas, capital structures and financing initiatives for clients within a designated industry.
• Work closely with product groups to offer clients industry and product expertise, in Mergers and Acquisitions, Equity Capital Market and Debt Capital Markets.
• Generate and update pitch books for meetings with clients.
• Update and build accompanying financial models.
• Perform valuation metrics including: capital markets updates.
• Complete comparable company analysis and discounted cash flow analysis.
• Conduct extensive company research to enhance industry knowledge and root out potential M&A targets for clients.
• Profile companies currently on the market and create competitive landscape analysis for segments within the specific industry.
• Prepare material presentation materials for client meetings and management presentations on the overall industry sector.
• Participate in pitches to clients, on acquisition ideas, capital structures and financing initiatives.
Skills and Experience Requirements:
• Superior analytical and quantitative skills (i.e. financial and data analysis);
• Excellent written and oral communication skills,
• Knowledge of business, economics and/or finance acquired through education and/or work experience;
• Strong technical/computer skills to utilize financial modeling tools and resources;
• The ability to work within a demanding and dynamic team environment;
• A proven academic track record.
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects;
• a strong work ethic with the ability to work under pressure in a team environment; and
• a high level of integrity.
