This is a newly created position with a private equity firm that focuses its investment efforts on businesses with between $2 million and $7 million of EBITDA. The firm currently has 16 investments across three industry groups: healthcare services, IT / software and other business services within the healthcare services group to manage two east-coast based portfolio companies that require senior financial executive leadership.
We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer who will be responsible for two separate companies doing business in the services sector of healthcare. For each company, the CFO will oversee accounting, audit, financial analysis, risk management, information technology, human resources, the measurement and forecast of company performance, the development of various recommendations for increasing profitability / return on assets, and manage the lender relationships. The CFO will report to the respective CEOs and have substantial interaction with the board of directors for each company. This role will include the following responsibilities:
- Management responsibility for billing, collecting, accounting, HR and IT staff
- Oversee cash management, with particular attention to A/R, A/P and cash flow forecasting
- Produce monthly financial statements for Board, CEO/CFO, lenders and management
- Maintain and improve "dashboard" of key metrics, and distribute weekly and monthly reports
- Budget, forecast, and track financial performance
- Manage the relationship with the Company's lender, and ensure compliance with its various reporting requirements
- Manage the annual audit process and auditor relationship
- Support strategic planning by benchmarking, interpreting financial data, highlighting problems and opportunities, and developing innovative ways to measure performance.
- Assist the CEO and other members of the management team in assessing growth initiatives (e.g. acquisitions) and/or innovative business arrangements
- Ensure financial compliance with company procedures, programs and government regulations
- Manage vendors and out-sourced relationships and evaluate alternative approaches to meet the long-term growth needs of the business

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration. CPA/CMA preferred.
- Successful leadership experience in a healthcare environment.
- Experience with contractual allowances and project based accounting.
- 15+ years of relevant experience, with strong financial and accounting background, hands-on experience and an in-depth understanding of accounting and financial reporting.
- Highly organized, detail oriented, able to multi-task.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience working with a CEO and Board of Directors
- Comfortable with a fast paced, hands-on relatively unstructured environment of entrepreneurial companies
- Able to travel up to 5 days per month
Compensation is commensurate with this level and includes an annual bonus based on achievement of agreed upon performance objectives and budget goals
