Special Assets Risk Officer
SunTrust Bank is currently seeking a Special Assets Risk Officer for Atlanta, GA. An alternate location in the Southeast U.S. would be considered for a strong candidate not wishing to relocate.
The Risk Officer will be responsible for managing an assigned portfolio of problem commercial, real estate, business banking and wealth & investment management credit relationships to maximize the economic outcome for SunTrust. Includes devising, implementing, monitoring & reporting on rehabilitation, exit, and recovery strategies.
This Special Assets position will primarily be responsible for managing problem loan relationships in the Tennessee (especially East Tennessee) markets. The relationships will usually be in the $100M to $2,000M total credit commitments range. The Risk Officer will handle loan renewals, restructures, foreclosures, repossessions, settlements, bankruptcies, and recovery of charge-offs, supported by legal counsel when needed. The Risk Officer will be responsible for monitoring a portfolio of assigned relationships and ensuring that risk grades, accrual status, book balances, and reserves are appropriate. May be responsible for directly managing or providing guidance to other special assets officers or an administrative assistant.
Requirements: 5 or more years of workout experience, including real estate foreclosures, managing/selling foreclosed real estate, and bankruptcies. Bachelor’s degree required.
